2011 Jail Ministry Christmas Mission Project

Dates for the 2011 project are as follows:

November 1 - Begin shopping for this year's project

November 30 - Toys are due to the Baptist Building

December 1 - Wrapping begins at the Baptist Building

December 8- 12 - Packages are being mailed out

December 16 - Routes for local delivery are ready to pick up

December 17 - Deliver locally

What is needed for the project:

Toys are to have a value of $10 max.

Baby toys for ages: under 3

Suggested purchases: Baby Pooh, Glo Worms, Musical toys, any age appropriate stuffed animals

For boys:

Suggested purchases: Footballs, basketballs, soccer balls, board games & watches

For girls:

Suggested purchases: Stuffed animals (not holiday oriented), jewelry sets, jewelry boxes, watches & board games

We are unable to use the following: Dolls, war related or law enforcement related toys, any toys that require batteries, and liquids, candy or books. We have been able to refine our list over the years and have found these items are not of value to this project due to various reasons.

Other needs include: Donations for children's Bibles. This year we would like to include a children's Bible for each home, in addition to the Bible that is already given. These are usually more expensive, but we will be buying them in bulk and hopefully getting them at a reduced rate.
